Against Trump’s terror at home and abroad
Statement by the Jewish Socialists’ Group

The JSG took part in a determined protest rally in London this weekend, called by Venezuela Solidarity Campaign, Stop the War Coalition and CND, which strongly condemned Donald Trump’s act of war and piracy against the Venezuelan government, and the bombing in and around Caracas that killed dozens of people.
Trump openly pursues his ultra-nationalist “America First” policy which, of course, defends powerful and voracious American corporations and their interests. His administration is characterised by authoritarianism, gangsterism, terror, racist scapegoating and megalomania. He tramples on democracy, international law and human rights, starting fires around the globe while claiming to be a peacemaker.
And he brings the same ruthless mindset to his domestic policy. The murder in broad daylight of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, by an ICE agent in Minneapolis this week, was the product of the domestic state terror that Trump unleashed in his first term, which is escalating even more brutally in his second term.
We are heartened and inspired by the collective courage of those taking to the streets in American cities to stand with targeted migrant communities and confront their oppressors together.
As socialists, anti-racists and anti-fascists, we stand in solidarity with those who are the direct victims of Trumpism in America and around the world. Here in Britain we demand that our own government end its servility towards and appeasement of Trump’s far-right administration.
