Minnie Lansbury: Poplar Rebel – 7.30pm, Thursday 20th November
Jewish Socialists' Group meeting At The Wesley (MIC), 81-103 Euston Street Street, London NW1 2EZ (nearest tubes Euston and Euston Square)
This will be a fascinating illustrated talk by Janine Booth about Minnie Glassman/Lansbury – socialist, suffragette and rebel Poplar councillor. Janine is the author of Guilty and Proud of It about the Poplar rates revolt, and is currently researching a book on Minnie Lansbury.
The photo shows Minnie being congratulated as she is on her way to being arrested in 1921.
